Video Doorbell XSH Cam Review

The doorbell came well packaged. The box was a little beat up, but this likely has nothing to do with the company, but rather the shipping carrier.

First off, I received a defective product that would not enter pairing mode. I contacted the company and they were swift to send me a replacement doorbell, no questions asked. I am reviewing the replacement doorbell, not the defective one.
This doorbell comes with 2 lithium batteries that are said to last 1 - 6 months. The replacement doorbell that I received had defective or dead batteries. The doorbell would work while plugged in / charging, but as soon as it was unplugged, became unresponsive. Fortunately, I had the first defective doorbell on hand, which had good batteries, so I was able to remedy this situation fairly easily by just switching out the batteries.
The doorbell entered pairing mode very easily, and was simple to connect to my phone and the internet. The instructions are fairly minimal but easy to understand as long as you don't need any troubleshooting.
The video quality is good, a solid 7/10. I say this because it has a wide field of view and captures a lot in its lens without distorting anything close or far away. However, the clarity of the video is not clear enough to read a license plate from 15 feet away, which would make it more appealing to me if it were able to do so.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this video camera as a more budget friendly option than some I've seen. It does not connect to Amazon Echo or other smart devices, but the connection to the app in a smartphone is almost as good.
